FEBRUARY 17TH 2022 – LADIES WHO LUNCH
Last month’s lunch was held at The Bunbury Arms. We were delighted to meet the new proprietor and enjoy an excellent lunch.
MARCH 10TH 2022 – TEATIME IN TEXAS
I was delighted to be the guest speaker and even more delighted to relive and share our 2010 Texas adventure. Many of our new members had not heard the story and were truly ‘gobsmacked’ to discover that 9 of us, plus utensils, baking ingredients, 20 loaves of sliced bread and all a girl needs for a week, managed to get ourselves successfully across the Atlantic, with a little help by KLM. We were accompanied by the very best of British ingredients shipped and supplied for free by many household brand names such as Tiptree, Yorkshire Tea, Tate and Lyle, Marriages and Waitrose. After shopping, baking and serving the tea to over 150 residents of Fort Worth, we were then able to savour all the delights of Texas especially the retail therapy. A truly wonderful story and great evening spent walking down memory lane.
