14th September 2023 - Biscuits By Design
This month we welcomed Peta Wilson, owner of the Bury Biscuit Company.   She makes a robust biscuit which lasts a couple of months and Royal Icing of different thickness.  She demonstrated icing Halloween biscuits – ghosts and pumpkins and lovely sunflowers, icing the centre and sprinkling with seeds and then making the petals.  Members had a chance to try their icing skills and to buy icing items.

OCTOBER 2023
12th – The Art of Dressmaking - Hillary and her husband run Pierces Pins in Ixworth, a traditional dressmaking and upholstery service.

9th – Blood, sweat and tears – Mary Newton an eminent forensic scientist giving us a fascinating insight into her life-long career.

DECEMBER 2023
14th - Annual Christmas Dinner – Andrea is cooking her delicious Christmas meal.  A time to eat, chat and enjoy other members company

JANUARY 2024
11th – Our social evening with a new quiz by Margo

FEBRUARY 2024
8th- - Midwifery through the ages

Guests are most welcome to come and join us at our meetings.  We have a short time for business and then our speaker.   We have changed from having rows of chairs to having 4 or more people sitting at a table.  We feel this is more sociable.  We have a raffle each month and tea, coffee and cakes. 2 members make or buy cakes and serve and yes, wash up!   When there is a special birthday, we have a cake and candles and sing!  Birthday posies are given out each month. You can sit with different people and get to know them and relax with your refreshments.  We run events, outings and have a Ladies who Lunch - in different pubs each month.  We encourage members to make suggestions and ideas a re taken seriously. We discuss them at our monthly committee meetings.  Do come and join us.
