NOVEMBER 11TH 2021 – ARMISTICE DAY MEETING
My Wonderful life – Charles Garland
This delightful and charming TV and film producer told us the inside story of the much loved BBC programme Dads army. He worked behind the scenes from the very start, with its creators Jimmy Perry and David Croft. He was part of the actor selection team giving us vivid accounts of the hiring of Clive Dunn, Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier, Ian Lavender and many more. The filming of Dads Army lasted for 9 years, but Charles’s work as producer has lasted many more going onto the present day to adapt the series time wise for the BBC 2 repeats. He also produced Allo Allo, Hi di Hi, Oh Dr Beeching, Big Break, Last of the Summer Wine and many, more.
A brilliant evening, a huge thank you to everyone.
NOVEMBER 18TH 2021 – LADIES WHO LUNCH
This month’s lunch is served at The Pakenham Fox, a very popular choice in our own village. The sign up list is overflowing and we look forward to an excellent lunch in familiar surroundings.
DECEMBER 9TH 2021 – THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER
This year’s eagerly awaited dinner is in the village hall, with catering by Andrea and her team. The after dinner entertainment is The Caverners, our very favourite boy band who play our favourite music of the 60’s and 70’s. A wonderful way to begin Christmas celebrations.
