6TH JULY 2020 – OUTDOOR AND SOCIALLY DISTANCED COMMITTEE MEETING
River Cottage hosted its first ever socially distanced outdoor committee meeting on the river bank. The gods were with us and it was a chilly but dry evening. It was fantastic for the nine of us to get together personally to discuss future 2020 events in these strange and challenging times.

It was a case of many cancellations for our forthcoming events and meeting. The lovely wood sculptor John Williams our July speaker is on hold till 2021 as are speakers for September, October and possibly November. Our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning, The Autumn Jumble Sale and The Bassey Girls appearance at the Regional Group meeting are sadly also cancelled. HOWEVER……..

AUGUST 13TH 2020 - THE ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY SUPPER
I am delighted to announce that we have decided to go ahead with this very special annual outdoor event. This year’s supper will follow all the latest social distancing rules and will be a case of bring your own supper, drink and eating equipment. It will provide a fantastic opportunity to spend an evening with our friends and catch up with everyone’s news. My grateful thanks go to Lisa and John, for their kind invitation to hold the event in the grounds of their lovely home. All we require now is a fine weather evening.

We also hope with a little ingenuity to go ahead with a Christmas Dinner, outdoor maybe!!!!!!!
Next year is the 100th  of Pakenham WI, so watch this space as we approach a very special date in our history. I am negotiating a team up with Pakenham in Ontario, Canada to make it an extra special year.
Keep safe, keep well and have a great summer.
