Pakenham WI News - November 2015

Pakenham WI

Another busy month, and now another year has gone flashing by.

November 1st 2015 - The Pakenham Christmas Card went on sale
This beautiful card designed by Isabella Welch defied all expectations and sold 500 in just one week. We hastily printed 500 more to keep us afloat till Christmas. My grateful thanks go to Holly, my printer and co-producer, great job friend, and to Barbara for kindly selling the cards from her bust post office. We made page 6 with a lovely picture of Isabella in the Bury Free Press and I have now been approached by ITV who wish to do a Christmas story.

November 12th 2015 - The Secret Life of a Diplomats Wife
WI 2015111220151112Celia Simms joined us for the evening to tell all the inner secrets of a wife’s role in the overseas diplomatic service.
It was very nostalgic and entertaining to hear this delightful lady’s reminiscences of her life in the far off corners of the British Empire.
We were delighted to welcome another new member Karen.

The excellent refreshments were provided and served by Lynn, Rosemary and Bridget, thank you ladies.

December 19th 2015 – The Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner
The Pakenham WI dance team are taking to the village hall boards once more to perform this year’s after dinner entertainment. With huge trepidation, I say watch this space !!!

January 14th’s meeting is one not to miss. For one night only we are delighted to welcome a personal fitness trainer for the evening. Peter Azzopardi is ours for the evening, to demonstrate his personal fitness regime for the New Year.

My grateful thanks to Chris (Village & Church News) and Ann ( Pakenham Village Website)  for all their support and publicity this year, you are doing a fantastic job guys.
