Pakenham WI News - November 2011

Pakenham WI

October 18th 2011 - Thedwastra Group Meeting.
When the seven local W.I.s all get together to hear what each other has got up to in the past year. A speaker on wedding dresses, a quiz and tea - rounded off by Pakenham's slide show of our year, made for a splendid evening.

November 1st 2011 - Annual Committee Dinner.
Another memorable meal at Theobald's in Ixworth. Wonderfully different dishes combined with excellent service. If you want a meal to remember this is the place to go!

November 10th 2011 - Our AGM.
Jerusalem got the evening started and then, after our usual monthly notices, we went on to the AGM. Reports were read and approved. Two new faces were welcomed on to the committee and thanks given to those stepping down. A warm welcome to W.I. to two new members: Lynda Painter and Barbara Ciaravella. After five very successful years as President our Mary Kirby has also stepped aside to give someone else a go in the 'hot seat'. I had the honour of being elected for the next year and will do my utmost to continue with her same enthusiasm and, with the help of all our members, we'll keep that special buzz going that makes our Pakenham W.I. so great. Mary was given a very warm 'Thank You' from all the members.
