PAKENHAM PARISH COUNCIL

29 SEPTEMBER 2005, THE VILLAGE HALL, PAKENHAM

PRESENT: Cllr H Painter, Cllr D Dorling,  Cllr R Griffin, Cllr L Patterson, Cllr M Sargent, Cllr C Spicer and Mrs J Brookman (clerk).

APOLOGIES:  Cllr J Mangnall

1.0 - DECLARATION OF INTERESTS:
There were no declarations of interest.

The Chairman convened the meeting.

2.0 - PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
SE/05/02227  Woodstock Bungalow, Fen Road, Pakenham.
Applicant Mr & Mrs P Steer.  Erection of
(i) single storey extension to front/side and
(ii) detached garage.
No objections in principle but would prefer the side extension to be set back from the gable to improve the modelling.

SE/05/02259  Redcastle Farm, Brand Road, Gt Barton.
Applicant - Mrs L Crane.
Erection of detached summerhouse.  No objections to the proposed erection of the summer house but their only concern was that the summer house should be ancillary to the main dwelling and not split off as a separate dwelling and would ask that a control/condition be placed on the approval to prevent this from happening.

SE/05/02256  The Fox, The Street, Pakenham.
Applicant Greene King Pub Partners.  Advertisement Application - Provision of
(i) externally illuminated house name, letters and logos,
(ii) externally illuminated hanging sign and
(iii) externally illuminated and non illuminated facility signs (revised scheme).
Pakenham Parish Council has no objections to the proposed application but would ask that the intensity of the lights is no brighter than the current ones.  We would reiterate our comments of the previous application that the present tenants are very conscientious and turn off the lights at 11.30 pm weekdays and Sundays and at midnight on Saturdays, subsequent tenants may not be as thoughtful, and the parish council would request that these times are included in the conditions of approval for this application.

SE/05/02273 Listed Building Application. Water Mill Farm, and Pakenham Water Mill, Mill Road, Pakenham.
Applicant - Suffolk Building Reservation Trust.
Replacement of 2 no. casement windows on west elevation.  No objections.

The Chairman closed the meeting.

3.0 - PUBLIC FORUM:
Cllr Spicer reported that lorries were dumping waste material adjacent to the A134 beside the river in an area which is in the parish of Pakenham.  Clerk to contact the Highways Department.

4.0 - DATE OF NEXT MEETING:
